What is the lead time?
Our panels are made to order and typically ship within 3-5 weeks.

What does NRC stand for?
NRC is short for noise reduction coefficient. All acoustical panels and products are tested by independent labs and given a rating for the percentage of noise they absorb. This product has an NRC rating of 1.00, which means it absorbs 100% of the noise that hits it. To give you an idea of some other materials to compare – traditional lay-in ceiling tiles you see in offices are .55, carpet is .10, drywall or concrete is .05, and glass or metal is .03. The 1.00 NRC rating is excellent and the panels will help with acoustic function in your space.

Can you make custom size star ceiling panels?
Unfortunately, we don’t offer custom sizes. Our panels are designed to act like a “skylight” in the center of a room. You can frame or soffit the area for a clean finish, or simply install the panels as standalone pieces. The edges are finished, so they look great even when floating in the center of a ceiling.

Can the panels come in other color fabrics?
The panels are wrapped in Guilford of Maine - Anchorage - Black Fabric. While other colors are available upon request, the white star lights pop best against black fabric. If you're interested in a different color, feel free to contact us to discuss your options.

Can the star panels be cut?
Yes, the panels can be cut for projectors, speakers, or other installations. However, most people choose to mount those items around the perimeter of the star ceiling panels. While the panels can also be cut down to different sizes and refinished, this requires skill. Contact us for assistance if you plan to modify them.

How many star panels can run on one power supply?
Our 1-amp power supply can support up to 30 panels, while our 4-amp driver can handle up to 100 panels. The LED engines are extremely low voltage, so the panels are energy-efficient and won’t cause a noticeable increase in your electricity bill.

Can I turn the star panels off and on?
Yes! The panels are chained together and powered through an outlet in the ceiling. Typically, this outlet can be pre-wired to a light switch or remote (not provided) for easy control. If you’re unfamiliar with wiring, an electrician may be needed to set this up.

Can I put the star panels on a dimmer?
No, the panels are not compatible with dimmers.

Do the stars twinkle?
No, the stars are bright white and solid-state. We tested various twinkle effects and found that aggressive twinkles looked unrealistic, while subtle twinkles were barely noticeable. For a natural, timeless look, we’ve opted for non-twinkling stars.

How many stars per panel? Are they all the same size?
Each panel features 45 stars in varying sizes. Some appear brighter and larger than others due to the way they’re punched and cut, creating a natural and realistic night sky effect.

What if I want other sized areas not shown here?
If you need a custom-sized setup for a larger area, please contact us, and we’ll work up a custom quote for your project.

How does the blue perimeter light work?
The panels are 2” thick, with a 1” face panel (48" x 48") attached to a 1” backer panel (45" x 45"). The smaller backer panel creates a gap that allows wiring for a blue (or any color) perimeter light. This flexible lighting, available on Amazon or other retailers, can be wrapped around the edge to achieve a halo effect.

Why would I want to add the blue perimeter light?
he perimeter light adds a halo effect, creating an extra “wow” factor—especially useful if the panels aren’t installed wall-to-wall. With a 3-6” gap between the panel edge and the wall, the light will shine over the edge and create a soft, glowing ambiance.
